Whether you’re completely new to using bone broth, or whether you’ve been using it for years, there is so much to know about this super food. Here are some of the questions we’re asked most frequently. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for then you can get in touch with our team here.
Q. Why should I try bone broth?
A. Research has shown that bone broth can offer an impressive array of health benefits, as well as being super tasty. Here are the top reasons why we think you should give it a try:
- Joint health This natural elixir can help improve joint health. At Bullshot, we take time to slowly cook our products so that the naturally occurring nutrients such as glutamine, glycine, glucosamine, collagen and calcium can infuse fully into our broths.
- Great flavour The rich and warming flavours in bone broth are the perfect base for gourmet cooking, enhancing the taste and texture of your recipes and giving them a sophisticated edge, while also adding nutritional value to your meals. Click here for more information.
- Collagen boost Unfortunately, as our bodies move past the age of 25 they lose the ability to produce as much collagen. This can be detrimental to skin health, causing it to sag and wrinkle more easily. Bone broth is naturally high in collagen, therefore including it in your daily nutrition can help offer your skin the natural boost it needs to help it look and feel more radiant.
- Bone health The naturally occurring calcium, magnesium and phosphorus in bone broth are essential for promoting good bone health. You’ll soak all these helpful nutrients directly into your body with every tasty portion of bone broth you enjoy.
Q. Why is bone broth so good for me?
A. This all-natural super-food has been created and enjoyed for thousands of years, and is revered for its natural health benefits. In recent times it may have fallen out of fashion due to the time and effort it takes to create, but Bullshot have a solution. We take time and care to simmer our broths for the optimum amount of time to release all the valuable nutrients from the bones and maximise its rich, comforting flavour.
Q. How should I consume bone broth?
A. Bone broth is a versatile liquid. It can be used in recipes such as soups, stews and sauces, used as a cooking agent for boiling rice or beans in, or simply enjoyed as a drink. Another great way to incorporate extra bone broth into your diet is to substitute stock or regular broth in your recipes for bone broth. This will add an extra layer of flavour and give a wholesome nutrition-boost to your culinary creations. Click here for recipe inspiration.
Q. How much bone broth should I drink?
A. This is really up to the individual. Even just one cup will give you a fantastic nutrient boost, but we’ve found that once people try bone broth, they love the flavour and enjoy the vitality boost it gives them so much that they often incorporate it into their daily diet.
Q. What does bone broth taste of?
A. As each set of taste buds interpret flavour differently, it’s difficult to give a definitive answer as to what bone broth tastes like. What we can tell you is that it’s comforting, soothing and pure. Our palettes are so often bombarded with additives, preservatives, sugar and salt that the subtle, wholesome flavours in bone broth are a welcome respite. Q. What is your bone broth made of?
A: All our bone broths begin with two core ingredients – great quality bones and pure water. For each different flavour, a specially selected combination of vegetables and herbs are added to create the rich, authentic flavours we’ve become known for, and a jolly good glug of organic apple cider vinegar completes our blend. Of course, for more information you can see a full list of ingredients on each product package.
Q. How do you make your bone broth?
A. At Bullshot, we slowly cook our high quality bones to release the deep, meaty flavours harnessed within them, and to infuse our broths with a whole host of beneficial nutrients including protein, amino acids and collagen. We add fresh vegetables, a carefully selected mix of seasoning and a jolly good glug of organic apple cider vinegar to finish our broths with the perfect flavour combinations.
Q. How is Bullshot different to other broths on offer?
A. At Bullshot, we use carefully thought-out ingredients, cooking techniques and packaging methods to hone a product that combines stunning flavours, a rich texture and a glut of nutrients. While other dried, powdered and artificially flavoured products on the market may rely on additives, flavourings and pastes, Bullshot is made by simply slow-cooking British bones and natural ingredients, creating a product that is as pure as a home-cooked bone broth. Not only do our high quality ingredients impart a wonderfully rich, umami flavour into our broths, but they’re also bursting with nutrients, vitamins and minerals – most notably skin-loving collagen and strengthening protein.
Q. Is Bullshot gluten free?
A. In short, yes it is!
Q. Where do Bullshot’s ingredients come from?
A. With eco-integrity at the heart of our ethos, we only use British bones and cuts of meat in our super scrumptious bone broths. Our apple cider vinegar is organically sourced and even our packaging is made in Britain!

Q. How long will my products last for?
A. Bullshot bone broths have a shelf life of up to eight months, and once opened can be refrigerated and stored for up to five days.
Q. Is your packaging recyclable?
